This is a 3-year contract opportunity. As a Mast Rigger, your responsibilities will include aligning, leveling, and anchoring machinery. You will be attaching loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for movement using various hand and power tools. Additionally, attaching pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms will be part of your duties, utilizing bolts and clamps for secure attachment. Controlling the movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces using chainfalls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment will be essential. You will also be tasked with dismantling and storing rigging equipment after use, as well as fabricating, setting up, and repairing rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear using hand and power tools. Manipulating rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials like heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets will be part of your daily tasks. This will involve selecting appropriate gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches based on load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules. Furthermore, signaling or verbally directing workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads will be crucial to ensure the safety of both workers and materials. Testing rigging to guarantee safety and reliability will be an important aspect of your role. You will also need to tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and around obstacles using multi-point suspension techniques.
