Audit Manager - T&O

• Group Internal Audit and Investigations (GIAI) is seeking an Audit Manager to provide independent assurance over Transaction Banking operations and supporting technology in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment.

Strategy
• Contribute to a forward-looking audit plan by identifying systemic and emerging and risks and anticipating changes in assurance needs. Business
• Support the execution of the Group Internal Audit plan for Technology and Operations. • Lead and deliver risk-based audits across the payments value chain, including initiation, processing, clearing, settlement, reconciliation and exception handling, in accordance with GIAI methodology. • Assess governance, risk management, controls and technology risks across operations, applications, data flows and supporting infrastructure. • Use data analytics and AI responsibly to identify patterns, support audit execution and generate clear, forward-looking insights. • Obtain sufficient, reliable and relevant evidence through walkthroughs, control testing, data analysis and stakeholder interviews. • Develop and document concise audit issues that clearly articulate the condition, cause, risk implication and required outcome. • Communicate audit outcomes through clear, accurate, and timely reporting to management and relevant governance forums and committees. • Monitor and follow up on management action plans to ensure timely and effective remediation of audit issues. • Maintain independence and objectivity while providing credible and constructive challenge to management. • Execute audits in accordance with GIAI methodology and quality standards, leveraging technology, analytics and continuous improvement practices. • Build effective stakeholder relationships and contribute to a collaborative audit team. • Maintain awareness of emerging operational, technology and regulatory risks and exercise sound professional judgement and scepticism.

Ensures highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Key Experiences
• Minimum four years of experience in external audit (Big 4 or equivalent) and/or internal audit. Experience in banking or financial institutions is preferred.
• Strong understanding of end to end transaction banking operations, including initiation, processing, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
• Solid grounding in technology and operational risks, including operational resilience, processing errors, fraud risk, sanctions screening, regulatory compliance, and third party dependencies.
• Practical experience in auditing applications and technology controls supporting business processes.
• Experience assessing governance, risk management and control design and operating effectiveness.
• Practical experience using data analysis and visualisation tools, such as Power BI, Tableau or Excel, to support audit testing and insights.
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly while protecting confidential information and independently validating outputs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate risks, technical issues and control issues into clear, business focused risk insights for senior management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, and Compliance.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple audit activities concurrently, and deliver to agreed timelines.
• Hands on experience with data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Excel) to support audit testing and insights is an advantage.
• Ability to undertake 10-15% business travel (if required).

Certifications / Qualifications (only where mandatory)
• Professional certification such as CISA, CIA, AAIA or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, Technology, or a related discipline.
