Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in Physics/ Astronomy, B.E/ M.E. A strong interest and a working knowledge of observational astronomy and space science. A high degree of technical ability and interest in maintaining complex projection systems and related equipment. The ability to articulate complex astronomical concepts clearly and comfortably to guests of all ages and knowledge levels. Comfortable presenting to a live audience. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness to travel up to 20 days a month Technical skills required: Using and Handling Amateur Telescopes. Familiarity with Planetarium Software operation and planetarium operations/setup Preference will be given to the following candidates: 1-3 years of experience in teaching Astronomy/Science at the school level. Experienced in operating telescopes Familiar with Digi-star Planetarium Software Roles and Responsibilities: Contribute to creating field trip experiences that are aligned to grade-level TEKs and support the PK-12 science curriculum. Contribute to the development of new shows for the planetarium Help to prepare and deliver programs including student field guides, lessons, and demonstrations for the planetarium. Conduct stargazing programs for schools in India. Present astronomy programs in our Digital Planetarium, operate and monitor computer and projection equipment, and manage students. Maintain communication with teachers, community, and central administration Manage data related to facilities usage, performance, and maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned.
