Asst Professor for Interior / Landscape Design

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Architectural / Interior / Landscape Design Assistant Professor to join our faculty team at Bangalore School of Design and Technology. The ideal candidate should have an Under Graduate degree in Architecture or Interior Design or Landscape Design or a related field. Additionally, relevant teaching or industry experience in interior design of a minimum of 3 years is required, or if you have a strong passion for teaching and are eager to pursue a career in this industry. Skills and Expertise required for this role include proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Photoshop. A strong understanding of design theory, trends, and sustainable practices is essential. The candidate should also have a portfolio showcasing professional design projects. Engagement Abilities are crucial for this role, including the capacity to inspire students, foster creativity, lead engaging design conversations, and mentor students in project development and career pathways. The candidate should also be willing to engage with and lead students in Design Competitions. Teaching Responsibilities will involve delivering lectures, conducting hands-on workshops, evaluating student performance through projects and presentations, and collaborating with faculty on curriculum development. Additionally, engaging with the Guardians to provide feedback on their wards" academic progress is part of the role. Other important qualities include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a proactive and innovative approach to teaching, passion for nurturing future designers, and strong time management and organizational skills. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to their teaching responsibilities and a genuine interest in contributing to the long-term growth of the institution. This is a full-time role as a Lecturer for our Architectural / Interior / Landscape design curriculum. The core subjects under our curriculum include Fundamentals of Design, Colour theory, Construction materials, Digital fluency, History of Design, Building services, Estimation and Costing, Fundamentals of Drawing, and technical drawings. As a lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering knowledge with quality research, conducting assessments, and guiding students towards their career goals. You will need to engage with the students in the classrooms during class hours and participate in continued discussions and oversee their work.
