Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Area Manager – QSR Operations to oversee multiple Quick Service Restaurant outlets, ensuring operational efficiency, profitability, service standards and effective manpower management.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience managing multiple QSR outlets, a sound understanding of unit-level Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, and the ability to independently manage operational challenges across locations.
This is a field-oriented role requiring regular outlet visits, direct interaction with store teams and flexibility to travel as business requirements demand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Multi-Unit Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple QSR outlets.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, food quality, hygiene, safety and customer service standards.
- Conduct regular outlet visits, operational audits and performance reviews.
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with airport concessionaires, landlords and other operating partners wherever applicable.
2. Unit Profitability & P&L Management
- Understand, monitor and analyse individual outlet P&Ls.
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining control over food costs, manpower costs, wastage and operating expenses.
- Monitor key performance indicators including sales, gross margins, food costs, labour productivity and outlet profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve store-level EBITDA and operational efficiencies.
- Prepare periodic performance reports for Management.
3. Manpower Planning & Team Management
- Plan and maintain appropriate staffing levels across outlets based on business volumes.
- Monitor manpower productivity, attendance, deployment and shift scheduling.
- Coordinate with HR for recruitment, replacements, onboarding and employee retention.
- Train, mentor and guide outlet managers and supervisors.
- Build accountable, motivated and performance-oriented store teams.
- Manage employee-related operational issues and maintain discipline across locations.
4. Sales & Business Performance
- Drive outlet-wise sales targets and operational performance.
- Monitor product availability, menu execution, upselling and customer experience.
- Work with Management on local sales initiatives and promotional activities.
- Analyse underperforming outlets and implement improvement plans.
5. Inventory, Cost & Quality Control
- Ensure proper inventory planning, stock availability and ordering discipline.
- Monitor food wastage, pilferage, consumption patterns and stock variances.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with procurement, supply chain and support teams to minimise operational disruptions.
6. Reporting & Coordination
- Submit regular reports on outlet sales, profitability, manpower and operational performance.
- Coordinate with HR, Accounts, Procurement and Management.
- Support new outlet openings, staff deployment and operational stabilisation.
- Escalate critical issues promptly and ensure timely resolution.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Preferably 4–7 years in QSR or organised food-service operations, including demonstrated experience handling multiple outlets.
- Prior experience as an Area Manager, Cluster Manager or Multi-Unit Operations Manager in a recognised QSR chain is preferred.
- Strong understanding of unit-level P&Ls, food costs, manpower costs and operational profitability.
- Proven ability to manage store managers and frontline teams.
- Good planning, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using Excel, POS reports and operational dashboards.
- Willingness to travel regularly and work flexible hours based on operational needs.
- Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Bengaluru, with familiarity with the local market.
Key Performance Expectations
The Area Manager will be evaluated primarily on:
- Achievement of outlet-wise sales and profitability targets.
- Control over food costs, wastage and manpower expenses.
- Staffing stability and employee productivity.
- Adherence to operational, food safety and service standards.
- Timely resolution of operational issues.
- Overall performance and consistency across assigned outlets.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on, field-based position rather than a desk-oriented management role. The successful candidate must be comfortable spending substantial time at outlets, working closely with store teams and taking ownership of operational performance.
Candidates available to join immediately or at short notice will be preferred.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
