Job Description: Quantity Surveyor Position: Quantity Surveyor Experience: 8 Years Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. Civil) Location: Chennai Egmore Employment Type: Full-time About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with 3 years of experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and be proficient in using AutoCAD and Excel. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness. Tender Management: Assist in the preparation, analysis and negotiation of tender documents and contracts. Measurement and Valuation: Conduct accurate measurements and valuations of construction work to ensure proper cost management and control. Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met and to resolve any issues that arise. Cost Control and Reporting: Monitor project expenditures, perform cost analyses and prepare regular reports on financial progress and any variances. Bill of Quantities (BOQ): Develop and maintain BOQs, ensuring they are comprehensive and up-to-date. Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks in projects and suggest mitigation strategies. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, correspondence and documentation related to contracts and costs. Software Utilization: Utilize AutoCAD for project drawings and Excel for detailed data analysis and reporting. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. Civil) or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and design purposes and advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and cost management. Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, methods and materials. Analytical Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills to interpret complex data and provide accurate cost assessments. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in work. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, evaluate options and implement effective solutions. Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
