Android Developer (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Unit Testing)

As an Android UI Developer at HARMAN Automotive, you will play a key role in leading the development of complex user interfaces and UI components for Android Automotive OS applications using Jetpack Compose. You will collaborate with the UX/UI design team, UI Architect, and Product Owner to ensure alignment on technical feasibility and user experience goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving the adoption of the MVVM architectural pattern and best practices within the UI team, as well as designing and implementing comprehensive unit and UI testing strategies using frameworks like JUnit, Espresso, and Compose testing. Proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and UI/UX issues, guiding junior UI developers with peer reviews and pair programming, and staying updated with the latest technologies and tools are also part of your responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you should have 3 to 6 years of experience in Android application development, with a focus on UI development using Jetpack Compose. Deep technical knowledge of Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack components, especially ViewModel and StateFlow/SharedFlow, and strong skills in Kotlin development, especially Coroutines, are essential. Experience with Figma toolchain for understanding UI concepts and extracting assets, as well as domain knowledge in Navigation, are considered bonus points.
