Analyst-Systems Engineering

Role Overview: As a Systems Engineer at Compliance Engineering within Goldman Sachs, you will play a crucial role in developing mission-critical software solutions to address regulatory and reputational risks. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to the enhancement and rebuilding of the Compliance application portfolio. Your responsibilities will involve partnering with various stakeholders, leveraging different technologies, and participating in the full software development life cycle. Key Responsibilities: - Partner globally with users, development teams, and engineering colleagues to facilitate onboarding of new business initiatives and validate Compliance Surveillance coverage. - Learn from experts, provide training and mentorship to team members. - Utilize technologies such as Java, Python, PySpark, and other Big Data technologies for solution delivery. - Innovate and incubate new ideas to enhance software solutions. - Participate in the full software development life cycle including prioritization, defining, designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software across products. Qualifications: - Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - Have expertise in Java development, debugging, and problem-solving. - Experience in delivery or project management. - Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas and arguments in meetings and in writing. Desired Experience: - Familiarity with relational databases. - Knowledge of Hadoop and Big Data technologies. - Understanding of the financial industry, particularly in the Capital Markets domain, compliance, or risk functions.
