Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Industrial Process/Mechanical Design Engineer to finalize the design, generate detailed engineering drawings, and create the Bill of Materials (BOM) for a custom, continuous dual-vvessel liquid extraction system. This role is crucial for transitioning our conceptual design into a ready-to-manufacture technical package. Responsibilities Detailed Design: Translate the high-level system specifications (dual-vessel, 50L batch size, 1000L storage) into final, manufacturable 3D models and 2D engineering blueprints. Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID): Finalize and document the complete P&ID, including all sanitary valves, instruments (temperature, pressure, level sensors), CIP piping, and utility connections. Solids Handling Design: Design the specific mechanism for the effective removal of spent solid particulate from the primary vessels (mathbfTK-101A/B) using a large-bore solids discharge port. Component Specification: Select and specify all critical process components (sanitary pumps, automated valves, agitator sizing, heat exchanger capacity) to ensure they meet SS 316 sanitary requirements. Process Optimization: Ensure the design integrates the Duplex Filtration System and the three-tank CIP skid efficiently to support continuous, non-stop operation. Documentation: Create the complete, cost-optimized Bill of Materials (BOM), including local and imported component sourcing suggestions (PLC, VFDs). Collaboration: Work directly with the Automation specialist to confirm I/O counts and control logic requirements. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical/Process Engineering. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in sanitary process equipment design (e.g., Food & Beverage, Dairy, or Pharmaceutical industries). Software Proficiency: Expert in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) and AutoCAD for P&ID generation. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of solids-liquid separation (false bottoms, filtration), heat transfer (jacket sizing), and sanitary design principles (mathbfRa surface finish, avoiding dead legs). Key Skill: Proven experience designing systems involving agitated extraction and automated cleaning (CIP). Contract Details Duration: 4 to 8 weeks (Project-based, extendable based on fabrication support needs). Location: Remote/On-site presence (to be negotiated). Compensation: Competitive hourly rate or fixed contract fee based on experience and deliverables. Deliverables: Finalized CAD models, complete P&ID, and an approved BOM.
