Role Description An AV (audio-visual) conferencing support engineer troubleshoots, installs, and maintains AV systems, ensuring seamless audio and video for meetings and events. This role requires strong technical skills with conferencing platforms like Zoom, Teams, and Webex, as well as knowledge of audio/video hardware, network infrastructure, and operating systems. They also provide user training and support, documenting issues and escalating complex problems when necessary. Key Responsibilities Technical support: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with audio, video, and conferencing systems. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve daily issues with AV equipment, such as connectivity problems, audio glitches, or display malfunctions. Installation and configuration: Install, set up, and configure AV equipment and software for conference rooms and events. System maintenance: Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance, which may include updates and preventative checks. User support: Provide technical assistance and training to end-users to help them effectively use the AV systems. Escalation: Escalate complex or critical issues to higher-level support teams, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), or back-end teams. System integration: Integrate video conferencing solutions with existing communication and collaboration tools. Documentation: Maintain records of support cases, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions. Essential Skills and Qualifications Conferencing platforms: Intermediate knowledge of platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Webex. Operating systems: Familiarity with both PC (Windows) and Mac operating systems. AV hardware: Previous experience with projectors, screens, displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, and control systems is a plus. Networking: Basic understanding of network components like gateways, firewalls, and switches is beneficial. Troubleshooting: Problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical problems. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training users and communicating with support teams. Customer service: A strong focus on customer service to ensure user satisfaction. Experience: Previous experience in a related AV or IT support role is a plus.
