Description: The QA Head (AGM/DGM) will be responsible for leading the Quality Assurance and Food Safety function across the meat processing plant. The role ensures robust design, development, implementation and continual improvement of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems in line with regulatory requirements, customer expectations and global best practices. This position demands strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of food safety standards in the meat industry. Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality & Food Safety Management Systems Design, develop and implement the Quality and Food Safety Management System for the meat processing plant. Ensure effective documentation, monitoring and continuous improvement of all QA systems and procedures. Lead internal audits, GMP/GHP assessments and ensure readiness for third-party and regulatory audits. 2. Customer Complaint Management Handle customer complaints with ownership and accountability. Conduct root-cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA). Track and close complaints within defined timelines, ensuring customer satisfaction. 3. Product Quality Monitoring Drive trend analysis of product quality parameters to identify deviations or improvement opportunities. Implement controls to maintain consistency, quality and compliance with product specifications. 4. Testing & Laboratory Coordination Ensure accuracy and reliability of in-house laboratory testing. Coordinate with external NABL-accredited labs for specialised or periodic testing requirements. Review test reports and ensure timely action on deviations or non-conformities. 5. Regulatory Compliance (Including FSSAI) Ensure full implementation and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including FSSAI norms, licensing, documentation and periodic filings. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure adherence to all food safety and legal standards. 6. Quality Audits & External Representation Represent the company for all quality-related matters with customers, auditors, regulatory authorities and stakeholders. Plan, supervise and lead quality system audits for the company, subcontractors and suppliers. Evaluate audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. 7. Documentation & Management Systems Manage and update the Company Quality Management Manual. Supervise development, revision and distribution of SOPs, Work Instructions and Company Procedures. Ensure proper control, versioning and accessibility of documents. 8. Cross-Functional Support & Technical Expertise Provide technical expertise and support to Production, Maintenance, Procurement, R&D and other units on quality and food safety matters. Support teams working on process improvements, operational efficiency and new product development. 9. Training & Capability Building Train all personnel on Quality System principles, food safety practices, hygiene management and methodologies. Implement structured training programs for QA staff, supervisors and operators. 10. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Oversee implementation of HSE systems, regulations and standards across the site. Ensure alignment of HSE practices with company policies and regulatory norms. Competencies/Skills Required Strong understanding of FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000/FSMS, GMP/GHP, and regulatory guidelines. Experience in handling audits, customer complaints, and managing QA teams. Excellent communication, analytical and leadership skills.
