Airport Engineer

As an Airport Infrastructure Design Engineer at Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners), you will be responsible for the detailed design of airfield and landside infrastructure, ensuring standards-compliant and optimized designs for significant projects worldwide. Your key responsibilities will include: - Prepare detailed geometric designs for runways, taxiways, aprons, stands, airside roads, access roads, and parking layouts. - Develop grading plans, cut-and-fill calculations, and earthworks balance for airside and landside areas. - Produce design drawings and BoQs extracted from BIM models. - Design airfield and landside signing & marking layouts in accordance with international aviation standards. - Support stand and gate design optimization, ensuring safe aircraft operations and integration of various facilities. Your qualifications should include: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or equivalent. - Specialized training in airport/transportation design software is an asset. For experience, you should have: - 4+ years of experience in airport or transportation infrastructure design. - Proven expertise in geometric design of airside and landside infrastructure. - Experience with signing & marking design, grading, BoQ preparation, and simulation. - Strong background in multidisciplinary coordination with various engineering disciplines. Your skills and competencies will include: - Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AviPLAN, BIM (Navisworks), AutoTURN. - Strong knowledge of international aviation and road design standards. - Ability to apply codes and standards directly in design solutions. - Solid understanding of aircraft operational envelopes, turning radii, and clearance requirements. - Strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.
