Join the Commercial Platforms Team and help shape how AI enables commercial excellence across Novonesis. As AI Technical Lead, you will provide technical product ownership and delivery leadership for AI solutions used across our global Commercial organization.

Working across business, product and technology, you will help turn commercial needs into secure, scalable AI products that simplify work, provide actionable insights and create more connected customer experiences.

The role & your impact

You will translate business needs and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions, establish the technical direction for AI developers and own the technical backlog, solution design and delivery quality.

This is a senior individual-contributor role without formal people-management responsibility. You will provide day-to-day technical direction to AI developers and external delivery partners and serve as the primary technical interface between Commercial Platforms and IT.

Your key responsibilities in this role

• Translate business requirements into technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and buildable development increments.
• Own and prioritize the technical backlog, provide technical direction and make informed technical trade-offs throughout development.
• Define scalable AI solution blueprints, data models, integrations, grounding approaches and reusable technical patterns.
• Design how AI agents connect with enterprise data, workflows, APIs and platforms while incorporating security, access controls, monitoring, human oversight and fallback mechanisms.
• Guide AI developers and external delivery partners, review implementation approaches and establish the quality bar for security, performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Ensure appropriate testing, AI evaluation, monitoring, release and production-support practices are in place.
• Act as the key technical interface between Commercial Platforms and IT, coordinating dependencies and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, data, security and responsible AI standards.
• Contribute commercial requirements and delivery experience to shared AI platforms, standards, architecture and reusable components.

What you'll need to be successful in this role

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, AI or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least six years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, solution architecture, data engineering, automation or AI solution delivery.
• Experience providing technical leadership, owning solution designs or guiding developers as a Technical Lead, Technical Product Owner, Solution Architect, Lead Developer or in a comparable role.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering AI, generative AI or agent-based solutions.
• Strong understanding of agentic AI, prompting, orchestration, grounding, retrieval-augmented generation, APIs, integrations, data models and enterprise data access.
• Experience designing cloud-based applications and integrations using Microsoft Azure, AWS or comparable cloud technologies.
• Working knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript or TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, JSON, Git and modern software-engineering practices.
• Experience translating requirements into technical designs, buildable backlog items and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with technical reviews, testing, AI evaluation, monitoring, release management and production support.
• A good understanding of security, identity and access management, responsible AI and enterprise architecture principles.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical audiences.
• The technical credibility to challenge designs, guide developers and resolve complex delivery issues.
• A product-oriented and pragmatic approach that connects technical decisions with user needs, business value, security, scalability and the product lifecycle.
• The ability to make informed technical decisions, collaborate across functions and take ownership of technical quality from design through ongoing operation.

Additional skills & interests we value

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Salesforce Agentforce, Power Platform, UiPath or comparable enterprise AI and automation technologies.
• Experience integrating solutions with Salesforce, Microsoft 365, SAP or other enterprise platforms.
• Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Service, API Management, Azure AI Search, containers or comparable cloud services.
• Experience establishing reusable engineering patterns or technical standards across a development team.
• Experience delivering solutions in a global, regulated or complex enterprise environment.

The role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, guide developers and external partners, and contribute practical delivery experience to shared AI architecture, platforms and standards.

Working conditions

The position is based in Bangalore, India, and follows a hybrid working model with flexibility between office and remote work.

The role involves regular collaboration with global teams across multiple time zones. International travel of approximately 10% may be required, depending on project and stakeholder needs.
