Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 1040 HNI Manager to join our dynamic tax team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individual clients, overseeing complex tax engagements, and providing exceptional tax planning and compliance services. This role requires a deep understanding of federal and state tax laws pertaining to individuals with significant wealth, intricate investment portfolios, and multifaceted financial structures. The Manager will also play a key role in mentoring and developing junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individual clients, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
  • Oversee and meticulously review the preparation of complex federal and state individual income tax returns (Form 1040) for HNI clients, including those with intricate investments, pass-through entities, trusts, gifts, and foreign reporting requirements.
  • Provide proactive and strategic tax planning advice to HNI clients, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research on complex and emerging tax issues, providing clear and concise recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of tax professionals, including staff and seniors, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work product.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their financial goals and providing tailored solutions.
  • Represent clients before tax authorities during audits, inquiries, or examinations.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax law, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring compliance and proactive client communication.
  • Collaborate with other service lines, such as wealth management and estate planning, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure efficient and profitable project execution.
