🎯 Role Overview: We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented Trainees to assist in speech and phonetic data annotation using Praat software. You will work closely with audio files and segment them into meaningful units (अक्षर, शब्दांश, etc.) on your laptop. Training and guidance will be provided by the Akshar Army team. 🛠️ Key Responsibilities: Open WAV and TextGrid files in Praat software Listen carefully and annotate speech segments (e.g., अक्षर, शब्द, स्वर, व्यंजन, मात्राएँ) Accurately mark segment start and end points Use provided phonetic guidelines (e.g., Maheshwar Sutras, barakhadi tables) Correct or verify pre-filled annotations by the AI system Maintain high accuracy and consistency Collaborate remotely with the team using cloud tools 🧑‍💻 Requirements: Own a laptop (Windows/macOS/Linux) with good headphones Basic familiarity with Hindi/Sanskrit/Indian languages Patience and attention to sound/phoneme details Comfortable using a mouse and keyboard precisely Able to learn and use Praat software (training will be provided) Reliable internet connection 🧑‍🎓 Ideal Candidate: Students or freshers in linguistics, AI/ML, phonetics, Sanskrit, Hindi, or related fields Interest in speech, language, and sound Strong listening skills and a sharp ear for phonetic distinctions 📚 Training & Tools Provided: Step-by-step training videos and written guides Sample datasets for practice Feedback from expert mentors Access to our web-based or offline annotation platform 💰 Stipend: Performance-based (depending on accuracy, consistency, and hours of work) Opportunity for promotion to Verifier, Team Lead, or Trainer roles.
