SMT Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Independently handle electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of SMT production equipment.
• Analyze electrical faults and restore machines with minimum downtime.
• Perform daily and monthly preventive maintenance of SMT equipment, including Solder Paste Printers, Pick & Place Machines, Reflow Ovens, Conveyors, Loaders and Unloaders.
• Inspect and maintain mechanical components such as feeders, belts, bearings, shafts, cylinders, linear guides and ball screws.
• Troubleshoot servo motors, servo drives, photoelectric sensors, proximity sensors and vision sensors.
• Handle SMPS, power distribution systems, control panels, relays, contactors and MCBs.
• Perform basic to intermediate PLC troubleshooting, I/O fault analysis, parameter monitoring, machine calibration and interlock checks.
• Ensure proper grounding and ESD protection to prevent damage to electronic circuit boards.
• Follow electrical safety standards, ESD, 5S and LOTO procedures.
• Identify critical spare parts and manage maintenance inventory.
• Coordinate with vendors for repairs, AMC and technical support.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Prepare maintenance reports, spare parts plans and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Participate in planned preventive and shutdown maintenance activities.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands-on experience in SMT equipment maintenance.
• Experience in Pick & Place Machines, Solder Paste Printers and Reflow Ovens.
• Knowledge of servo motors, servo drives and industrial sensors.
• Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and electrical control panels.
• Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Knowledge of ESD, LOTO and electrical safety.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic MS Excel and PowerPoint knowledge.

Preferred Experience:

Candidates from Electronics Manufacturing, PCB Assembly, EMS and SMT production facilities will be preferred.
