Job Title: IT Server Engineer Department: Information Technology Location: Navi Mumbai Reports to: IT Server Engineer Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Server, Storage & Virtualization Engineer to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our server infrastructure, storage systems, and virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server and storage technologies, virtualization, and data centre management. Key Responsibilities: Server Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers. Monitor server performance and ensure high availability. Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues promptly. Perform hardware and software upgrades as needed. Storage Management: Administer and maintain storage area networks (SANs) and network-attached storage (NAS) systems. Ensure data integrity, availability, and backup/recovery processes. Monitor storage capacity and performance, planning for future expansion. Implement storage security measures and access controls. Virtualization: Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or similar). Create and manage virtual machines (VMs) and templates. Optimize virtual infrastructure for performance and scalability. Implement disaster recovery and backup solutions for virtual environments. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies. Perform regular backups and test data recovery procedures. Ensure business continuity by minimizing downtime in the event of a disaster. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, storage layouts, and virtualization setups. Ensure compliance with security policies, industry regulations, and best practices. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application and database requirements. Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies and solutions. Roles and Responsibilities Provide technical support to end-users for desktop issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting. Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and VMware virtualization platforms. Perform backups of critical data using various backup tools (e.g., Veeam). Troubleshoot network connectivity issues on LAN/WAN networks. Collaborate with other teams to resolve complex technical problems Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in server, storage, and virtualization administration. Proficiency with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, etc.). Experience with storage technologies, including SAN and NAS. Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions. Understanding of data centre infrastructure and best practices. Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar are a plus. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for server and storage-related emergencies, if required.
