Senior Resident - Emergency Medicine

Job Description

responsibilities Patient Care: Performing comprehensive patient assessments on arrival to the emergency department. Initiating immediate life-saving interventions for critically ill patients. Diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac arrest, stroke, respiratory distress, and acute abdominal pain. Ordering necessary diagnostic tests and interpreting results. Developing and implementing treatment plans, including medication administration and procedural management. Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Following up on patient care post-discharge. Leadership and Supervision: Overseeing and mentoring junior residents in the emergency department. Delegating tasks appropriately to junior staff. Reviewing patient charts and providing feedback to junior residents. Leading resuscitation efforts in critical situations. Education and Research: Participating in teaching rounds and lectures for medical students and junior residents. Presenting cases at departmental conferences and grand rounds. Contributing to research projects within the emergency medicine department. Staying updated on current advancements in emergency medicine through literature review and continuing medical education. Administrative Duties: Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation Completing required administrative tasks, including shift reports and quality improvement initiatives Participating in departmental committees and quality assurance activities Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and other healthcare providers Advanced knowledge of emergency medicine procedures and treatments Leadership qualities to effectively supervise junior residents Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Perks and benefits In Campus accommodation All other benefits & incentives as per SRMS Trust policy
