The duties of a sales staff (or sales associate) generally focus on selling products or services and ensuring customer satisfaction. Here’s a breakdown of their core responsibilities: Primary Duties of Sales Staff: Customer Service Greet and assist customers. Answer product or service inquiries. Provide recommendations based on customer needs. Sales Promote and sell products/services. Meet or exceed sales targets or quotas. Upsell or cross-sell additional products. Product Knowledge Stay informed about features, pricing, and promotions. Demonstrate product usage when needed. Inventory and Merchandising Stock shelves and maintain product displays. Monitor inventory levels and report shortages. Cash Handling Process payments (cash, credit, etc.). Issue receipts and handle returns or exchanges. Record Keeping Maintain sales logs and customer records. Report sales trends to management. Cleanliness and Organization Keep the sales area tidy. Ensure products are correctly labeled and priced. Team Collaboration Coordinate with other staff to ensure smooth store operations. Participate in team meetings or training sessions.
