Job Summary: The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests, preparing samples, operating diagnostic equipment, recording results accurately, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the lab. The role ensures quality control and timely reporting to support clinical decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Collect, label, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, stool, sputum, etc.). Perform routine and specialized lab tests using automated and manual techniques. Maintain and operate laboratory instruments and equipment. Ensure proper storage and disposal of samples and chemicals. Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain documentation. Maintain inventory of lab supplies and place requisitions as needed. Ensure proper sterilization and hygiene of lab equipment and workspace. Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards. Assist in quality assurance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Coordinate with clinicians and nursing staff for sample collection and result sharing. Participate in audits, trainings, and accreditation processes as required. Required Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT). Registration with relevant medical or paramedical council (if applicable).
