Optometrist

As an Optometrist at SMSIMSR located in Muddenahalli, Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive and preventive eye care services. With a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital, vision center, or clinical eye care setting, along with a Bachelor's or Masters qualification in Optometry, you will join our team on a full-time basis with a 6-day workweek schedule. In this position, you will collaborate closely with ophthalmologists and primary care providers to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive eye care to patients of all age groups. Your responsibilities will include conducting vision tests, refraction, and prescribing corrective lenses. Additionally, you will diagnose common eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia, as well as assist in pre- and post-operative care and screening for diseases like glaucoma or cataracts. Furthermore, you will be expected to counsel patients on eye care practices, visual hygiene, contact lens usage, and spectacle maintenance. Your role will involve interpreting diagnostic results from various tests such as retinoscopy, tonometry, slit-lamp, and visual field tests. It will also require you to maintain detailed patient records, participate in community outreach eye screening camps, and recommend referrals to ophthalmologists for advanced medical or surgical management when necessary.
