Job Description

  1. Operate slitting machines as per daily production plan and job specifications.
  2. Understand job cards, customer specifications, roll dimensions and slitting instructions.
  3. Set up slitting machines according to required roll width, length and quantity.
  4. Select and install appropriate slitting knives, blades and spacers.
  5. Set machine parameters such as web tension, winding tension, nip pressure and machine speed.
  6. Ensure proper alignment of parent rolls and slit rolls.
  7. Maintain accurate slitting width and roll length as per specifications.
  8. Monitor edge quality and ensure clean, uniform slitting without burrs or uneven edges.
  9. Ensure proper rewinding hardness, roll tightness and roll appearance.
  10. Identify defects such as telescoping, wrinkles, uneven winding, loose winding, edge damage and roll contamination.
  11. Ensure correct roll identification, labelling and traceability.
  12. Minimise material wastage during setup and production.
  13. Maintain production, wastage and machine downtime records.
  14. Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance.
  15. Follow machine safety procedures, PPE requirements and 5S practices.
