Operator / Assistant Operator - Inspection & Rewinding Machine

1. Operate inspection and rewinding machines as per production plan and job specifications.
2. Understand job cards, inspection standards, customer specifications and approved quality samples.
3. Inspect printed films and laminated materials for visual and functional defects.
4. Set inspection machine parameters such as speed, tension, winding pressure and web alignment.
5. Identify and segregate defective material during inspection.
6. Check for printing defects such as:
• Colour variation
• Misregistration
• Missing print
• Ink smudging
• Streaks and spots
• Pinholes and scratches

7. Check lamination defects such as:

• Bubbles
• Wrinkles
• Delamination
• Tunnelling
• Adhesive marks
• Foreign particles

8. Check film and laminate defects such as:

• Gauge variation
• Holes
• Contamination
• Edge damage
• Surface scratches

9. Ensure accurate defect marking, defect removal and rejection segregation as per approved procedures.

10. Maintain proper roll length, winding tightness and roll appearance.

11. Ensure correct splicing and joint identification.

12. Verify finished roll width, length, direction of winding and roll identification.

13. Maintain inspection reports, rejection records and production documentation.

14. Minimise inspection wastage and maintain productivity.

15. Coordinate with Quality and Production teams regarding major quality abnormalities.
