Job Title: OPD Coordinator Location: Thuraipakkam OMR Chennai] Department: Outpatient Services Reports To: OPD Manager Job Type: [Full-time] Job Summary: The OPD Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the smooth functioning of the Outpatient Department (OPD) by managing appointments, patient flow, coordination with doctors, and ensuring high-quality patient service. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate daily operations of the OPD to ensure smooth patient services. Manage doctor schedules and ensure appointments are properly organized. Supervise OPD staff (receptionists, attendants) and monitor performance. Assist patients with registration, billing, appointments, and follow-ups. Address and resolve patient complaints or concerns in a professional manner. Maintain accurate records of patient visits, medical documentation, and reports. Ensure cleanliness, readiness, and proper functioning of OPD facilities and equipment. Liaise with internal departments (labs, pharmacy, diagnostics) for timely service delivery. Monitor wait times and improve workflow to reduce delays and overcrowding. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, health regulations, and safety standards. Qualifications and Requirements: Any degree in or a related field. Minimum 6month-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in OPD or front office management. Proficiency in hospital information systems and scheduling software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle pressure and multitask in a busy clinical environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and patient service procedures.
