Job Title: Simultaneous 5-Axis CNC Programmer, Setter & Operator Location: Narketpally Department: Precision Machining / Manufacturing Reports To: Production Manager / Engineering Head Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Simultaneous 5-Axis CNC Programmer who can independently program, set up, and operate advanced 5-axis machining centers for high-precision components. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in CAM programming (for true simultaneous 5-axis machining), with strong experience in setting and running multi-axis CNC machines in industries like aerospace, defense, medical, or high-precision tooling. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize simultaneous 5-axis CNC programs using advanced CAM software (such as NX CAM, HyperMill, PowerMill, or Mastercam Multiaxis). Set up complex 5-axis machining centers including fixture design, workholding, tool setting, and part alignment. Operate the machine to produce high-precision parts per drawings, 3D models, and tolerancing standards. Interpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD models with GD&T to plan machining strategies. Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, and machining parameters (feeds, speeds, step-overs). Perform in-process inspection using high-precision metrology tools and collaborate with the QC team. Troubleshoot machining and programming issues; recommend improvements for cycle time, tool life, and accuracy. Work with Engineering and Production teams to ensure machining efficiency and product quality. Maintain machine cleanliness, basic maintenance, and safety protocols at all times. Required Skills & Qualifications: Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field. Minimum 5-10 years of hands-on experience in simultaneous 5-axis CNC programming, setting, and operating. Strong experience with CAM software capable of full 5-axis toolpath generation. Proficiency with machine controls such as Heidenhain, Siemens 840D, Fanuc 31i-B5, etc. Deep understanding of complex part machining, tool paths, collision avoidance, and multi-axis kinematics. Ability to machine hard materials like Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys with tight tolerances. Excellent knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, and high-speed machining strategies. Strong understanding of GD&T, surface finish standards, and component criticality. Preferred: Background in aerospace, defense, medical implants, or precision tooling industries. Experience with automation (e.g., pallet changers, probing systems, in-process gauging). Familiarity with CAD platforms (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
