HMC Machine Operator

Job Description

· Set up and operate Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) as per job requirements and engineering drawings. · Load raw materials and fixtures onto the machine and secure them for machining operations. · Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and job instructions to ensure accurate machining. · Adjust machine settings, including speed, feed, and tooling, to optimize production and maintain quality standards. · Perform basic programming or make minor alterations to CNC programs as needed for specific jobs. · Monitor machine operations and conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify part dimensions. · Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. · Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or quality issues, taking corrective actions as necessary. · Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, and any machine-related issues. · Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area. · Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and maintenance staff to ensure smooth workflow and resolve production challenges.
