Head Of Department (HOD) Mechanical

Purpose of the job:

• Organize and manage the department's human, financial and material resources to optimize the quality of its services and its technical and economical performance
• Ensure in the short, medium and long term the optimum equipment availability and performance at minimum cost
• Follow and measure, equipment condition, analyze trends, and identify the needs for maintenance (for mechanical/electrical/ instrumentation equipment and civil works), taking into account production constraints.
• Define the methodology, the manpower, the spares and the other resources necessary to achieve efficient and safe maintenance in line with technical standards.
• Define the work program according to operational priorities, manpower, resources and equipment availability.
• Reduce maintenance repair work throughout equipment life cycle by upgrading materials and practices to improve technical and economical performance.

• Development and execution of annual operating plans(AOP)
• Development and supervises the execution of Capital Expenditure plans
• Manage the Maintenance staff to ensure timely production and distribution of products within quality standards, high uniformity, and optimum production costs.
• Reviews cost reports to locate excessive expenses and takes necessary corrective action.
• Prepare short and long range development plans with application of RCA
• Working in ISO 9001: 2000 & ISO 14001: 1996, OHSAS 18001
• Sentient about SPC
• To assure environmental compliance and clean plant operations
• To continuously improve the company's health & safety performance by proactively manage health & safety of employees
• Improvement in reliability for production lines, as well as equipment failure rate. (Kilns & Mills > 98%)
• To improve MTBF, MTTR, OEE
• Good knowledge of TPM tools
• Review of Planning and scheduling of major shutdown jobs for achieving targeted equipment performance within the budget
• Managing team, implementing the mission and objectives, carrying out their performance reviews, promoting the quality of the work, motivating personnel, facilitating communication and relationships (regular department meetings, reporting to the hierarchy)
• Building skill development programs for maintenance personnel and evaluating the results. Ensuring the permanent update of the personal skills develops and implementing training plan for the team
