We are looking for an experienced Commercial professional to manage procurement, stores, logistics, import operations, vendor management, and project commercial activities for our manufacturing and industrial operations in Kitwe, Zambia.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in project procurement, local and international purchasing, inventory management, import procurement, logistics, export operations, and commercial coordination.
Candidates with manufacturing, mining, metals, or EPC project experience and exposure to SAP will be preferred.
Key
- Manage end-to-end commercial operations, including procurement, stores, logistics, and vendor management.
- Handle local procurement, project procurement, service contracts, and purchase order management.
- Manage import procurement activities, including vendor coordination, documentation, shipment tracking, and material delivery.
- Oversee stores operations, inventory control, material receipt, issue, reconciliation, and MIS reporting.
- Manage logistics activities, including fleet management, dispatches, export shipments, and vessel chartering.
- Coordinate with project in-charges to prepare monthly and quarterly material procurement plans.
- Monitor project execution progress and ensure timely procurement of required materials.
- Conduct commercial and technical scrutiny of supplier invoices, subcontractor bills, and purchase documentation.
- Reconcile material consumption, supplier invoices, and subcontractor work progress.
- Develop new vendors and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
- Conduct vendor evaluation, price negotiations, and commercial comparisons.
- Prepare monthly project budgets, purchase budgets, and fund requirement statements.
- Coordinate purchase order approvals and ensure compliance with management guidelines.
- Conduct commercial audits of project activities and procurement transactions.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, project teams, and client representatives.
- Prepare and circulate periodic MIS reports covering procurement, inventory, logistics, project progress, and billing.
- Ensure compliance with group commercial policies and coordinate with the group commercial team.
Mandatory
- 6-10 years of experience in commercial operations, procurement, stores, and logistics.
- Graduate or Engineering qualification; MBA in Commercial/Operations preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial projects, EPC, mining, or metals industries.
- Strong experience in project procurement and purchase order management.
- Experience in local and import procurement.
- Knowledge of stores and inventory management.
- Experience in logistics, dispatch, transportation, and export operations.
- Vendor development, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Experience in purchase budgeting, cost control, and commercial MIS.
- Knowledge of subcontractor billing, invoice verification, and reconciliation.
- Exposure to SAP ERP.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and commercial reporting.

- Experience in copper processing, mining, or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Experience in international procurement and export documentation.
- Knowledge of vessel chartering and shipping operations.
