Role Overview We're seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Developer to join our dynamic team and lead the development of cutting-edge web and mobile applications. You'll architect scalable frontend solutions and drive technical decisions that shape our product's future while working with modern technologies in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Design and develop high-performance web and mobile applications using React, Next.js, and React Native across multiple platforms Architect reusable component libraries and maintain design systems that ensure consistency across all products Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into exceptional user experiences Optimize application performance, implement SEO best practices, and ensure accessibility compliance across all deliverables Lead code reviews and establish frontend development standards Integrate with RESTful APIs endpoints while implementing robust error handling and data management patterns Drive technical discussions around frontend architecture decisions and contribute to our engineering roadmap Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and advocate for adoption of tools that improve team productivity Required Qualifications 4-6 years of professional frontend development experience with a strong portfolio of shipped products Expert-level proficiency in React ecosystem including hooks, context, and modern patterns Extensive experience building mobile applications with React Native and understanding of platform-specific considerations Advanced knowledge of Next.js including SSR, SSG, API routes, and deployment optimization Strong command of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript with ability to write type-safe, maintainable code Proficiency in state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, or Context API for complex application state Solid understanding of modern CSS including Flexbox, Grid, and CSS-in-JS libraries (styled-components, emotion) Experience with testing frameworks including Jest, React Testing Library, and end-to-end testing with Cypress Familiarity with build tools, bundlers (Webpack, Vite), and modern development workflows Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex frontend issues across different browsers and devices Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) and service worker implementation Knowledge of advanced data fetching patterns such as Client-side Optimization, Real-time Data Patterns, Advanced State Management and Error Handling & Loading States. You’ll play a critical role in translating complex business and technical requirements into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. From early discovery to final handoff, you’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and QA to ensure every interaction feels purposeful, scalable, and aligned with our mission. This is an opportunity to shape digital experiences that power the future of EV infrastructure and clean energy adoption. We’re specifically looking for: At least one end-to-end project involving a React Native app or responsive web platform Clear articulation of your role, especially in cross-functional settings Evidence of working within a design system, handling data-heavy interfaces, or designing for accessibility and responsiveness Key responsibilities Oversee all phases of the UX/UI lifecycle, from concept development to final handover to the facilities or development team upon project completion Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to map all user journeys, ensuring interface logic strictly aligns with defined business and technical requirements Design intuitive interfaces that enable users to navigate complex enterprise systems with clarity Create high-quality, responsive designs and polished micro-interactions across both mobile and web platforms, adhering to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards Translate user needs, technical constraints and business requirements into fully annotated user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes Help develop and actively maintain a robust design system and atomic component library to ensure consistency, scalability and efficient handoff Contribute to QA and developer collaboration by validating the visual accuracy and usability of features before production release What You’ll Bring A proven track record with 3+ years of experience designing digital products within technical, infrastructure-heavy environments— in the EV, energy, or clean tech sectors Strong experience crafting intuitive, user-first interfaces for customer-facing React Native apps (iOS and Android), alongside responsive web platforms Excellent collaboration and communication skills—you thrive in cross-functional teams and are confident working closely with Product Managers, Engineers and QA in a fully remote setup A well-curated portfolio that demonstrates not just polished visuals, but clear, strategic design thinking, particularly across mobile and web experiences Mastery of Figma as your primary design tool, with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar platforms for asset creation or ideation Deep expertise in UX design principles, with hands-on application of responsive layouts, accessibility standards (WCAG), and iterative usability testing While not required, experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript would be a valuable bonus A genuine passion for climate impact and innovation, with a keen interest in EV technologies, sustainable mobility, or digital solutions for carbon reduction Why Join Electric Miles?
