JD:
To lead and manage the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) function of the Aluminium Extrusion Manufacturing Plant, ensuring reliable plant operations, equipment availability, preventive maintenance, automation, energy efficiency, and compliance with electrical safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Electrical & Instrumentation department and manage day-to-day plant maintenance activities.
- Handle maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown management of electrical systems and equipment.
- Oversee electrical systems of Aluminium Extrusion Presses, Billet Heating Furnaces, Die Heating Furnaces, Ageing Furnaces, Cooling Systems, and Foundry equipment.
- Ensure smooth functioning of PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, motors, control panels, sensors, and automation systems.
- Plan and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Manage HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, substations, DG sets, PCC/MCC panels, and power distribution.
- Monitor equipment performance and minimize electrical breakdowns and production downtime.
- Ensure proper maintenance of instrumentation, temperature controllers, pressure sensors, and other process-control instruments.
- Coordinate with Production and Maintenance teams for smooth plant operations.
- Lead electrical installation, commissioning, modification, and plant expansion projects.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory requirements, and energy conservation practices.
- Manage departmental manpower, contractors, spare parts, and maintenance budgets.
- Maintain electrical maintenance records, breakdown reports, and equipment history.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Educational Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering may be considered with relevant senior-level experience.
Experience
- 1015 years of relevant experience in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance.
- Experience in Aluminium Extrusion, Aluminium Manufacturing, Steel, Metal Processing, or Heavy Engineering industries.
- Previous experience handling E&I functions at a manufacturing plant in a leadership role.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, VFD, automation, and industrial control systems.
- Hands-on experience with HT/LT systems, transformers, motors, and electrical distribution.
- Strong troubleshooting and breakdown management capabilities.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Leadership, team management, and vendor coordination skills.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and statutory compliance.
Preferred Industry
