We are looking for committed and dynamic individuals to join a field-level Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) team for an ambitious waste management initiative in Kerala. The project involves transformation of local waste management practices, behavioural change at the community level, and coordination with stakeholders including households, local governance structures, and primary waste collection teams. This is a people-centric role ideal for professionals passionate about environmental sustainability, community engagement, and public health. The assignment will be for a minimum of 12 months, extendable up to 18 months depending on project requirements. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in Palakkad district or have prior work experience in Palakkad. Key Responsibilities: Execute IEC campaigns to raise awareness and promote sustainable waste practices across multiple local bodies. Engage with communities, residential associations, institutions, and informal sectors to drive behaviour change. Assist in implementing protocols and communication strategies for improved source segregation and waste supply chain. Facilitate training and orientation sessions for field workers, volunteers, and local officials. Coordinate with local self-governments, collection systems, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth rollout of practices. Support grievance redressal mechanisms, feedback collection, and real-time field reporting. Document learnings, case studies, and community stories for internal reporting and future learning. Candidate Profile: Degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) , Environmental Sciences , Sociology , Development Studies , or any relevant discipline. 1β5 years of field experience in community outreach, sustainability, sanitation, solid waste management, or similar domains. Strong communication and facilitation skills in Malayalam and English . Experience working with local bodies, NGOs, SHGs, or public welfare projects is desirable. Ability to work independently as well as in coordination with a larger team across multiple jurisdictions. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
