Job Description

1. Technical Skills Machine Operation : Understanding how to operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, etc.). G-Code Programming : Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code to understand or modify machine instructions. Blueprint Reading : Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Tooling Knowledge : Understanding cutting tools, tool holders, and proper selection for various materials. Material Knowledge : Knowing how different metals, plastics, and composites behave during machining. 2. Measurement & Quality Control Precision Measuring Tools : Use of calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines). Inspection Techniques : Conducting in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications. Understanding Tolerances : Ability to work within tight tolerances as required by technical drawings. 3. Mechanical Aptitude Troubleshooting : Identifying and solving mechanical or programming issues with the CNC machine. Machine Maintenance : Performing routine maintenance and understanding basic repair needs. Set-Up Skills : Setting up machines for different jobs, including alignment and workholding. 4. Soft Skills Attention to Detail : Ensuring accuracy and quality in machining processes. Problem-Solving : Thinking critically to resolve machining or programming issues. Time Management : Efficiently handling jobs and minimizing machine downtime. Communication : Reporting issues clearly to engineers, supervisors, or maintenance teams. Teamwork : Collaborating with production teams and quality control departments. 5. Safety Awareness Workplace Safety Practices : Following OSHA and company-specific safety procedures.
