Automation Testing Engineer Job Description (JD)

Job Title:

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions to ensure high-quality software delivery. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in test automation frameworks, API testing, CI/CD integration, and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts.
  • Execute automated and manual test cases for web, API, and mobile applications.
  • Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
  • Perform regression, smoke, sanity, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Develop reusable automation utilities and libraries.
  • Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Prepare test execution reports and quality metrics.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in

    Selenium WebDriver

    with

    Java/Python/C#

    .
  • Experience in

    TestNG/JUnit

    frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with

    API Testing

    using

    Postman, Rest Assured, or SOAP UI

    .
  • Experience in

    BDD frameworks

    such as

    Cucumber

    .
  • Knowledge of

    SQL

    and database testing.
  • Experience with

    Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions

    .
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with

    Playwright

    or

    Cypress

    .
  • Experience in cloud platforms such as

    Azure

    or

    AWS

    .
  • Mobile automation using

    Appium

    .
  • Performance testing knowledge using

    JMeter

    .
  • Exposure to containerization tools like

    Docker

    and

    Kubernetes

    .

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Automation Testing are an added advantage.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in enterprise applications.
  • Exposure to Banking, Retail, Healthcare, or E-commerce domains.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and Shift-Left testing practices.
