This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s prosperity, delivering an effective and high-quality overseas aid program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas. The department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of Australia’s pursuit of global, regional, and bilateral interests. About the position The position is part of the DFAT Property Section and requires specialist support maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work on the Australian High Commission’s owned and leased off compound premise’s electrical systems. This includes heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarms, and generator equipment. All works must meet minimum Australian standards. The position is required to manage its workflow which is coordinated by the Property Officer responsible for Reactive Repairs and Maintenance. Employment conditions Subject to the successful completion of three months probationary period, satisfactory medical check and background verification, the successful applicant will be, initially offered a two-year contract with the possibility of extension. The successful applicant will be expected to commence duty within one month of being advised of the selection for the position.
