Job Summary: The Sports Venue Manager is responsible for the operational management of sports venues, ensuring that events, operations, and maintenance are executed efficiently and safely. This role involves supervising venue staff, coordinating with event organizers, handling customer service, and ensuring the overall success of the venues operations. Key Responsibilities: Event Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of sports events (games, tournaments, etc.). Liaise with event organizers, athletes, sponsors, and vendors to ensure seamless event operations. Ensure that all required equipment and facilities are available and in good working condition for each event. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise venue staff (security, custodians, ticket sales, customer service representatives, etc.). Create staff schedules and manage workloads for efficient operations. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and coaching to ensure high standards of service. Facility Maintenance: Ensure the venue is well-maintained and clean, both before, during, and after events. Oversee any required repairs or maintenance to the venue's infrastructure, including seating, lighting, flooring, and sound systems. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for repairs or upgrades. Budgeting and Financial Management: Assist in developing and managing the budget for the venue, ensuring efficient use of resources. Track expenses and revenue from events and other services provided at the venue. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of all individuals in the venue, including staff, athletes, and spectators. Work with local law enforcement and security companies to ensure proper security protocols are followed. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures. Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries and complaints, providing excellent customer service. Ensure that all guests have a positive experience at the venue by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Oversee ticketing and guest services, ensuring efficient entry, seating, and amenities. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and increase venue attendance. Coordinate with sponsors and partners to enhance venue visibility and brand reputation. Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue from ticket sales, concessions, and merchandise. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that the venue complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety laws, zoning, and fire codes. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices. Skills: Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure. Knowledge of facility maintenance and operations. Experience with budgeting and financial management. Proficiency in event management software and other relevant tools.
