About RoundGlass Foundation Learn Labs is Roundglass Foundation solution for the achievement of educational goals in Punjab. The Learn Labs embrace open pedagogies and new technologies in government schools of Punjab. Learn Lab - SOLE (Self-Organized Learning Environment) empowers students, women and men to define their own learning path and educate themselves using technology. In a SOLE session, children, driven by their inherent curiosity, search for answers to Big Questions, such as What would happen if insects disappeared from earth? and How do light switches work?”. These questions encourage students to explore theories, work collaboratively and exercise their reasoning and logic skills. There are no teachers in Learn Labs - SOLE. Instead, coordinators guide the sessions to make them more effective and enjoyable for children. Under the Learn Cloud initiative, volunteers from across the world interact with children over Skype to help them improve their communication skills and aid them in their quest for knowledge. About the role The Learn Labs Coordinator is a person who is motivated to educate villagers (i.e. Children, youth, teachers, principals, women and men). This person connects easily with the villagers and their needs to problem solve educational issues, educate and assess results. The Coordinator is able to communicate success and issues to Learn Lab Lead in an accurate and timely manner for the improvement of the initiative. Finally, the assistant is very open to learning and to trying new pedagogies for his/her own growth. What you’ll do – The coordinator will report to Learn Lab Lead. will conduct surveys in village schools and write reports in English will supervise in setting up labs will test students (i.e. Baseline, midline and end-line) will train, support and monitor all kinds of facilitators to operate labs and other Learn Lab initiatives will monitor the proper functioning of the lab: visit labs on a regular basis, assess teachers and students, communicate with Learn Lab Lead and school principals when issues arise and otherwise. oversees a cluster of labs (about 15 - 20) that are in close proximity will guide, motivate and assist lab facilitators to carry out tasks properly will ensure that pedagogies are implemented according to RGF standards will help in troubleshooting and communicate computer issues to RGF IT personnel as required make weekly reports for Lead escalate any challenges and/or issues to Lead Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelors in education or Master’s in education, development or social work Masters in special education Fresher to up to 3 years of experience Excellent ability to speak, listen, read and write in English Ability to communicate with students, teachers, families and colleagues Passion to work on field with children Able and ready to commute or stay in villages Able to write reports Enthusiastic learner Ability to relate to students and families Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point Can communicate in Punjabi and read/write English.
