Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Proposal/Estimation Engineer to support our sales and engineering teams by preparing competitive and accurate proposals, technical quotations, and cost estimates for our team. This role requires a strong understanding of automation systems, control panels, PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation. Key Responsibilities: Analyse RFQs (Request for Quotation), tender documents, and customer specifications to develop technical and commercial proposals. Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to determine the optimal technical and financial solution. Prepare detailed cost estimates including equipment, software, engineering hours, subcontracts, and installation. Generate technical and commercial proposal documents in compliance with customer requirements and internal standards. Participate in customer meetings and presentations to explain and defend proposals when needed. Maintain pricing databases, estimation tools, and historical project records to support accuracy and continuous improvement. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotations for third-party equipment and services. Evaluate and mitigate commercial and technical risks in proposals. Ensure proposals meet industry standards, local regulations, and company policies. Support the transition of awarded projects to the execution phase by briefing project managers and engineers. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in proposal, estimation, or engineering roles within the automation or industrial control systems sector. Strong technical knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, industrial networks, and instrumentation. Proficiency in reading P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control panel drawings. Familiarity with automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, ABB, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Experience with cost estimation tools, AutoCAD, and MS Office suite (especially Excel). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
