Job Title: Pharma Designer Job Summary: A Pharma Designer is responsible for developing, designing, and optimizing pharmaceutical products, packaging, and related materials to ensure they meet regulatory standards, usability, safety, and brand requirements. This role combines scientific understanding with design expertise to support drug development, packaging design, labeling, and user-centered solutions within the pharmaceutical industry. Key Responsibilities: β Collaborate with R&D, marketing, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to design pharmaceutical products and packaging. β Create design specifications for drug formulations, delivery systems, and packaging materials (e.g., blister packs, bottles, injectables). β Develop labeling and patient information leaflets (PILs) that comply with regulatory standards (FDA, EMA, etc.). β Ensure designs consider patient safety, ease of use, and compliance (e.g., child-resistant packaging, tamper-evident seals). β Participate in human factors studies and usability testing to optimize design. β Work with graphic designers to develop visual identity elements for pharmaceutical brands. β Stay updated on pharmaceutical trends, materials, and technologies to propose innovative design solutions. β Ensure all designs adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience in pharmaceutical / Nutraceutical product development or packaging design (typically 2β5 years, depending on level). Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Coral Draw , Photoshop , PageMaker CAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite ETC). Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, labeling requirements, and quality standards. Strong understanding of material science, especially related to drug delivery and packaging. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability. Preferred Qualifications: β Experience with sustainable packaging or eco-friendly materials. β Familiarity with medical device design principles and standards (e.g., ISO 13485). β Understanding of digital health trends and connected drug delivery devices. β Prior experience in working with contract manufacturers or suppliers. Work Environment: Typically office-based within Nutraceutical companies, biotech firms, or design consultancies. May require occasional travel to manufacturing sites or supplier facilities. Works closely with R&D, regulatory affairs, marketing, supply chain, and external partners.
