Position: School WardenReporting to: Chief Resource Officer (CRO) / School AdministrationLocation: The Heartfulness Learning CentreEmployment Type: Full-timeRole OverviewThe School Warden is responsible for ensuring the safety, discipline, and well-being of students in the hostel and school premises. The role involves supervising students, maintaining order, and fostering a conducive learning and living environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Student Supervision & WelfareEnsure the safety and security of students residing in the hostel and on school premises. Monitor students' daily routines, including wake-up time, meals, study hours, and bedtime. Address student concerns and provide guidance on academic, emotional, and behavioral matters. Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to school and hostel rules. Act as a mentor and create a supportive environment for students' holistic development. 2. Safety & SecurityEnsure the safety of students by monitoring entry and exit points, especially during school hours and hostel curfews. Conduct regular checks to prevent unauthorized activities or security breaches. Coordinate with security personnel to address emergencies or safety concerns. 3. Discipline & Conflict ResolutionEnforce school and hostel discipline policies fairly and consistently. Address behavioral issues, conflicts, and rule violations among students. Maintain records of disciplinary actions and report serious matters to school authorities. Foster a culture of respect, responsibility, and cooperation among students. 4. Health & Hygiene Monitoring Ensure students maintain personal hygiene and follow health protocols. Oversee the cleanliness of dormitories, dining areas, and common spaces. Liaise with medical staff for students’ health check-ups and emergencies. Provide first aid in case of minor injuries and coordinate with medical staff for serious health concerns. 5. Communication & CoordinationAct as a bridge between students, school administration, and parents. Maintain regular communication with the school principal, CRO, and hostel management. Keep parents informed about students’ well-being, behavior, and academic performance when required. Organize meetings with students to address concerns and provide guidance. 6. Administrative ResponsibilitiesMaintain attendance records for hostel students. Prepare reports on student behavior, incidents, and disciplinary actions. Ensure compliance with school policies and guidelines related to student welfare. Oversee hostel logistics, including room allocations and inventory management. Qualifications & Experience Education : Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (preferably in Education, Social Work, or Psychology). Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Warden, Housemaster/Housemistress, or in student welfare. Skills Required: Strong leadership and disciplinary skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle emergencies and stressful situations effectively. Basic knowledge of health, hygiene, and first aid will be a advantage Preferred AttributesExperience working in a CBSE residential school setting. Familiarity with adolescent behavioral management techniques. Ability to connect with students while maintaining professional boundaries. Working ConditionsThis role requires working beyond standard school hours, including weekends and nights. The Warden will reside on campus or be available on call for emergencies.
