Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Fire Service Technician to perform inspection, maintenance, testing, and repair of fire hydrants to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards. This role is critical to the overall fire protection system and public safety infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections, testing, and servicing of fire hydrants in accordance with NFPA 25 and local authority standards. Conduct flow tests, pressure readings, and operational checks to ensure hydrants are in proper working condition. Must be aware about Basic Hydrant Pumps. Lubricate, flush, and clean fire hydrants as part of preventive maintenance programs. Repair or replace faulty hydrant components such as gaskets, valves, nozzles, and stems. Must have knowledge on NRV System and changing of dish washer. Document all maintenance and testing activities accurately, including any deficiencies found and corrective actions taken. Coordinate with water utility providers, fire departments, and municipal authorities as needed. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all field activities. Respond to emergency repair calls as needed and provide on-site technical support. Assist in locating buried hydrants and updating GIS or asset tracking systems if required. Requirements: Must have diploma in fire and safety or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred. 1–3 years of experience in fire hydrant maintenance or fire protection systems. Working knowledge of fire hydrant components and operation. Familiarity with NFPA 25 and local fire code requirements. Basic plumbing and mechanical repair skills. Ability to operate testing equipment (e.g., flow gauges, pressure recorders). Physically fit to perform outdoor manual labour, including lifting, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions. Good communication and reporting skills. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in fire protection maintenance (e.g., NICET Level I or II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems). Experience working with municipal water systems or utilities. Ability to read utility maps and blueprints.
