At British Overseas Institute, we are seeking an Academic Counsellor to join our team in Chandigarh. As an Academic Counsellor, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting students through their educational journey, ensuring they make informed decisions about their academic pursuits. Key Responsibilities: Student Guidance: Provide personalized counseling to students regarding course selection, university admissions, and career planning. Assist students in understanding their academic options and guide them in making informed decisions. Indeed Admissions Support: Manage the admission process by explaining procedures, assisting with application submissions, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and timely. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between students, parents, and the institute. Address inquiries through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings. Collaboration: Work closely with faculty and administrative staff to ensure alignment in academic offerings and to address student needs effectively. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential student records, tracking progress and ensuring compliance with institutional policies. Job Requirements: Educational Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. A postgraduate degree or diploma in education counseling is preferred. Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in academic counseling or a related field is preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant internships or training are also encouraged to apply. Skills: Calling on Leads Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. Empathy and the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems.
