Description
Role & responsibilities Assist in the design and deployment of new network infrastructure and technologies, including LAN/WAN solutions. Assist in the installation, configuration, and support of network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices . Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, bandwidth. Provide technical support for users related to network issues and escalate more complex problems to senior engineers when necessary. Perform routine network maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and upgrades. Ensure network security by assisting in firewall management and VPN setup. Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems, including Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022. Manage Active Directory (AD) environments, including user account creation, group policies, and permissions. Administer and troubleshoot Windows-based file servers, print servers, and network services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, FTP). Configure, monitor, and maintain virtualized environments using Hyper-V and VMware. Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools, such as Veeam, Backup Exec, or native Windows backup solutions. Administer, configure, and maintain the ManageEngine Desktop Central platform for managing desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and servers. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus. Conduct network performance analysis and generate reports on utilization and reliability. Collaborate with the IT team to implement infrastructure projects, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Maintain accurate records of network configurations, inventory, and documentation. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in networking and IT infrastructure. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP). Familiarity with network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark) is a plus. Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and how they interact with network systems. Ability to troubleshoot network-related issues effectively. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures. Certification such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar is a plus. Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V. Location: Dadar, Mumbai
