Job Title : Finance Head Location : Goa, India Reports to : CEO/ Director Department : Finance Job Overview : We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Head to oversee the financial operations of our organization. This individual will play a critical role in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision-making to help drive the company’s growth and profitability. The Finance Head will lead a team, manage financial risks, ensure compliance with Indian financial regulations, and provide insights into financial performance for senior leadership. Key Responsibilities : Strategic Financial Leadership : Develop and implement a robust financial strategy in line with the company’s objectives and local market conditions in Goa and India. Work closely with the CEO and senior management to provide financial insights and guidance on key business decisions. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring all financial targets are aligned with business goals. Financial Reporting & Analysis : Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements and reports as per Indian accounting standards (IND AS). Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting for stakeholders, including shareholders, investors, and the Board of Directors. Provide detailed financial analysis to identify opportunities for cost-saving, revenue growth, and operational efficiency. Risk Management & Compliance : Ensure full compliance with Indian financial laws, including the Companies Act, GST regulations, Income Tax Act, and other local laws. Oversee audits, internal controls, and risk management processes to protect company assets. Stay up to date with changes in tax policies and financial regulations in India and ensure the company remains compliant. Cash Flow & Capital Management : Oversee cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations. Manage capital allocation, debt financing, and investments, ensuring sound financial decision-making. Optimize financial resources, capital structure, and returns on investments. Team Leadership & Development : Lead, motivate, and develop the finance team, ensuring that the department operates efficiently and effectively. Establish clear performance goals for finance staff and mentor team members in their career development. Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage continuous learning. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting : Communicate financial information to key stakeholders, including investors, banks, and government authorities (for tax, GST, and statutory filings). Present financial updates, strategic plans, and key insights to the Board of Directors and senior leadership. Financial Planning & Decision Support : Provide strategic financial insights to support business expansion, new investments, and cost control initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial planning aligns with operational needs and market dynamics in Goa and India. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or Master’s degree in Finance preferred). Professional qualifications like CA (Chartered Accountant) , CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) , or CMA (Cost Management Accountant) are highly preferred. Experience : At least 10-15 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (Finance Head, CFO, etc.), ideally in an Indian context. Experience in handling financial operations within India, with in-depth knowledge of Indian financial regulations such as GST , Income Tax , and Companies Act . Experience in a Goa-based business or understanding of the regional economic landscape is a plus. Skills : Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and grow a high-performing finance team. Expertise in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making. Advanced knowledge of Indian accounting principles (IND AS) and tax laws. Excellent communication skills to liaise with senior management, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel . Key Competencies : Strategic Thinking : Ability to align financial goals with business objectives and the local economic environment. Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills with a keen ability to resolve complex financial issues. Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
