Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Business Officer (CBO) to lead and drive the business strategy and growth of our Micro LAP and Affordable Lap vertical . The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the Retail MSME business , with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of rural and semi-urban financial inclusion models. The CBO will be responsible for business development, sales, product innovation, market expansion, and end-to-end portfolio management. Key Responsibilities: Business Strategy & Growth Develop and execute business plans for Retail MSME business products aligned with the companys long-term goals. Drive revenue and portfolio growth through strategic partnerships and expansion into new geographies. Product Management Lead the development, enhancement, and management of Retail MSME products Ensure customer-centric and compliant product offerings aligned with market needs. Sales & Distribution Oversee field operations and branch networks; monitor sales performance across regions. Expand and manage a robust field force; ensure achievement of targets and KPIs. Risk & Compliance Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal risk frameworks. Collaborate with credit, risk, and compliance teams to ensure sound portfolio quality. Team Leadership Build, mentor, and manage high-performing teams at regional and national levels. Foster a performance-driven and values-based culture. Stakeholder Engagement Engage with external stakeholders including regulators (RBI), investors, lenders, and partner institutions. Provide regular business updates to the Board and Executive Committee. Key Requirements: Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. MBA preferred. Experience: Minimum 18 years + in financial services with at least 10-12 years in Retail MSME, including leadership roles. Skills: Deep understanding of Retail MSME lending models, rural economy, and NBFC operations. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. Strategic mind-set with the ability to execute at scale. Sound knowledge of regulatory and compliance landscape in NBFC/Retail MSME sectors. Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile
