Job Description

A Textile Lab Technician performs physical and chemical testing of textile materials to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards. They may also be involved in research, development, and production processes. Key Responsibilities: Testing and Analysis: Performing various tests on fabrics, garments, and other soft goods to determine their physical and chemical properties, such as strength, durability, colorfastness, and chemical resistance. Data Collection and Recording: Maintaining detailed records of test results and keeping the laboratory area clean and organized. Quality Control: Ensuring that products meet quality standards and regulations. Equipment Maintenance: Operating, cleaning, and maintaining laboratory equipment and tools. Sample Preparation: Preparing samples for testing and ensuring proper handling and storage. Collaboration: Working with designers, manufacturers, and other professionals to troubleshoot problems and improve textile products. Required Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: Proficient in using textile testing equipment and analyzing data. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret results and draw conclusions from data. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders. Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records. Knowledge of Textile Industry: Understanding of textile manufacturing processes and quality standards. Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with some positions requiring a degree in a related field, such as textile engineering, chemistry, or materials science
