Description
Our client is a global technology change and delivery organization in the banking area, comprising nearly 500 individuals located in Switzerland, Poland, Singapore and India. Providing global records and document processing, archiving, and retrieval solutions to all business divisions focusing on supporting Legal, Regulatory, and Operational functions. Responsibilities: IBM Spectrum Protect Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Spectrum Protect servers and clients on RHEL 7/8 (AIX is a plus). Ensure data retention compliance and system performance. Multiplatform Migrations: Lead complex migrations of Spectrum Protect environments across platforms, including node migrations, storage pool migrations and cross-platform server migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime. Cloud Storage Integration: Implement and manage cloud storage solutions, particularly Hitachi Content Platform (HCP), to enhance our archiving capabilities. Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts using Bash and Perl to automate routine tasks, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency. Database Management: Administer and optimize the Spectrum Protect database, leveraging strong SQL skills to manage and query the embedded DB2 database effectively. Event-Based Retention Management: Apply event-based retention policies within Spectrum Protect. Desirable (Nice-to-Have) Knowledge: Familiarity with IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) and/or Oracle archiving solutions is an advantage, but not required. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with CTOs, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align archiving strategies with business goals. Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively. Team Collaboration: Mentor junior team members, foster a collaborative work environment, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Configuration Management & DevOps: Utilize Ansible for configuration management and GitLab for version control to ensure consistent and reliable deployments. Mandatory Skills Description: Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum Protect/TSM, including recent experience in complex environments. Proficiency in administering IBM Spectrum Protect and performing data migrations (including node migrations, server migrations, and cloud integrations). Strong scripting abilities in Bash and Perl. Experience with Ansible for automation and GitLab for version control. Solid understanding of SQL and experience with DB2 databases. Familiarity with IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD). Knowledge of event-based retention policies within Spectrum Protect. English C1 level Nice-to-Have Skills Description: IBM Certified Administrator - Tivoli Storage Manager V6 or above is preferred. ITIL Foundation (understanding of change management, CAB, etc)
