Requirement Details: Location : Kolkata Designation: Head Procurement and Supply Chain Experience: 18 to 20 Years Qualification: Masters degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Management, or a related field Expected Notice Period : Immediate to 30 days SKILLS: Negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and pricing with suppliers and vendors. Strategic sourcing and supply chain management expertise to ensure cost-effective procurement. In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards. Leadership and team management abilities to guide and motivate the procurement team. Strong data analysis and cost control skills to optimize resources and reduce waste. BROAD FUNCTIONS: Oversees the efficient acquisition, management, and distribution of medical and non-medical supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Job Description: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the hospital's goals. Evaluate and select suppliers and vendors for medical and non-medical products. Ensure sourcing strategies balance cost-effectiveness with quality, compliance, and timeliness. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues relating to delivery, quality, or service. Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines. Track expenditure and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality. Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing. Ensure procurement activities comply with healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and legal standards. Maintain records and documentation to meet audit and regulatory requirements. Assess risks related to supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans. Oversee inventory control to ensure the timely availability of critical supplies. Work closely with the hospital's inventory management team to track stock levels and optimize stock turnover. Minimize waste and obsolescence, particularly with perishable or time-sensitive medical supplies. Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing training and development opportunities. Set clear objectives for the team and conduct performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the procurement department. Conduct vendor evaluations and audits to ensure the quality and reliability of products. Ensure that all medical equipment and supplies meet required safety and quality standards. Implement quality assurance procedures for all procurement processes. Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and finance departments to assess and prioritize procurement needs. Work closely with the hospital's clinical teams to identify new products or services required. Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of supplies. Implement procurement software and systems to streamline procurement processes and improve efficiency. Leverage data analytics to monitor procurement trends, supplier performance, and inventory levels. Prepare regular procurement reports for senior management, detailing expenditures, savings, and other key metrics.
