Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Application Support Database Developer to ensure the performance and reliability of production systems. The role involves responding to incidents, identifying and resolving system vulnerabilities, and applying creative solutions to maintain a stable application and infrastructure environment. This position requires hands-on expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and related systems, along with strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Roles and Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production systems and applications across various technologies. Investigate and address user-submitted incident and service request tickets. Work primarily with Oracle PL/SQL-based applications and supporting systems, including web, mobile, and web services. Monitor and respond to internal and external reports of product issues. Analyze complex technical problems across applications, systems, and infrastructure. Collaborate with business and IT teams, including network, server, QA, and development teams, to resolve production issues. Make application modifications to fix defects and reduce the risk of future incidents. Participate in testing and validation of system changes. Modify database applications using SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Forms. Review upcoming production changes and contribute to minimizing their potential impact. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Application Support. Required Skills and Qualifications Strong experience in application support or development in an RDBMS environment, particularly with SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle. Proficiency in developing reliable and maintainable PL/SQL code, including packages, procedures, and triggers. Working knowledge of Linux operating systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think creatively and develop alternative solutions. Quick adaptability to changing technologies and business needs. Familiarity with enterprise technologies such as sFTP, SSL/SSH, networking basics, Citrix, and ETL tools. Able to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment. Strong customer-focus and a desire to support end users effectively. Preferred Skills Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience with web and mobile application technologies. Knowledge of enterprise performance monitoring tools such as AppDynamics or Dynatrace. Familiarity with MS-SQL and MySQL, including their procedural languages. Background in supporting complex, database-driven transaction processing applications. Exposure to ColdFusion/CFML web applications and PHP-based portals. Familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite is an added advantage. This position will serve as a level II support engineer and will be required to work outside normal business hours in response to production outages & impacts. Off hours on-call operates as a rotation among the team. The candidates objective is to eliminate those occurrences by identifying and closing vulnerabilities before they become a production incident.
