The Assistant Machine Operator plays a key supporting role in the operation of advanced printing machines, specifically UV and 1 over 1 perfecting systems. Working closely with the Machine Operator, this position ensures smooth machine operation, consistent print quality, and adherence to safety standards. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in industrial printing and gain hands-on experience with modern printing technologies. Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation Support Assist in setting up and operating UV and 1 over 1 perfecting printing presses. Help load printing materials and verify correct alignment before printing. Monitor machinery during runs to support continuous and efficient operation. Quality Assurance Observe printed materials during production to identify defects such as misalignment or color variation. Notify the Machine Operator of any quality concerns and assist in making necessary adjustments. Maintenance & Cleanliness Support daily and routine cleaning of machines and surrounding work areas. Assist in basic troubleshooting and promptly report any major equipment issues to the supervisor. Production Workflow Ensure printing materials are available and stocked for continuous operations. Support job changes and transitions by unloading printed material and prepping machines for new tasks. Safety & Compliance Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Handle UV inks and materials in compliance with health and safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the production area. Qualifications: Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience Prior experience in a printing or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. Strong interest and willingness to learn printing processes, particularly UV and 1 over 1 perfecting systems. Skills & Competencies: Basic understanding of printing machinery and production operations. Eagerness to learn technical skills and contribute to team efficiency. Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
