About Business Line/Function LAP is a fast and flexible accounting and financial reporting system. The system is available 24x7 and operates in a batch and real-time mode processing. Data from the General Ledger is extracted and provided to other areas such as the Bank of England Reporting system, Head Office reporting, Management Information system and Nostro Reconciliation systems as well as to reporting tables enabling direct user access. Job Title Test Automation Engineer Date 18-Mar-2025 Department Fresh Location: Mumbai Business Line / Function FDS-Aladin Reports To (Direct) Team Leader / Project Manager Grade (if applicable) (Functional) Number Of Direct Reports Directorship / Registration: NA Position Purpose As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated test frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. You will collaborate with functional teams to identify test requirements, create automation strategies, and enhance continuous integration and deployment processes. Your role involves maintaining test scripts, analyzing results, and driving improvements in automation efficiency while mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities Direct Responsibilities Develop and Maintain Test Automation Frameworks – Design, implement, and optimize scalable test automation solutions for functional and regression test Create and Execute Automated Test Scripts – Develop automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium Collaborate with Development Teams – Work closely with developers, and product team to identify test scenarios and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines Enhance Test Coverage – Identify gaps in test coverage and improve automated testing for APIs, UI, and backend systems. Perform Code Reviews and Debugging – Review automation scripts, troubleshoot test failures, and suggest improvements. Monitor and Analyze Test Results – Track test execution, analyze failures, and report defects while ensuring timely resolution. Deployment monitoring – To ensures that applications function correctly after deployment, minimizing risks and ensuring system stability Mentor and Train Team Members – Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning. Contributing Responsibilities Participate in functional testing when required Technical & Behavioral Competencies Skill set - Mandatory Technical Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation. Proficiency in automation frameworks such as Selenium, Python Strong programming skills in Java, Python for test automation Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RESTful API. Knowledge of cloud platforms is a plus. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to changing requirements. Experience mentoring junior team members is a plus. Preferred Technical Skills Familiarity with version control systems like Git, Bitbucket. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab).
